Staging Types.

The O2 is a large entertainment district including an indoor arena, a music club, a Cineworld cinema, an exhibition space, pizzas, bars and restaurants. It was built largely within the former Millennium Dome.  The O2 arena is a 23,000 capacity venue, primarily used for live music concerts such as rock, classical, and opera. It is located at the centre of The O2 and is the first American style multi-purpose arena in London. It is one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe. The arena has hosted multiple music and sporting events and in 2008 exceeded ticket sales for both Madison Square Garden and the Manchester Evening News Arena.

The HMV Hammersmith Apollo is one of the biggest major entertainment venues located in Hammersmith, London. It was designed by Robert Cromie in Art Deco style; it opened in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace cinema, being re-named the Hammersmith Odeon in 1962.  There have been many different performances taking place in the Apollo, from different people such as;; Anastasia, Bon Jovi, Boy George, Lee Mack, The White Stripes and The Police.

The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare's playing company; The Globe Theatre was built on the same site by June 1614 and closed in 1642.A modern reconstruction of the Globe, named "Shakespeare's Globe", opened in 1997. This stage was always used for plays and performances only instead of music concerts and opera concerts.

The Royal Opera House is an opera house and major performing arts venue. Originally called the Theatre Royal, it served primarily as a playhouse for the first hundred years of its history. The current building is the third theatre on the site following disastrous fires in 1808 and 1857. The Royal Opera House seats 2,268 people and also has four tiers of boxes and balconies and the amphitheatre gallery. The proscenium is 12.20 m wide and 14.80 m high.  This stage is mainly used for comedy stand-ups and performances, such as dramas and so on.

Wembley Stadium is located in Wembley Park, in the London Borough of Brent, England, which opened in 2007 on the site of the previous 1923 structure. The 90,000 capacity venue is the second largest stadium in Europe, and serves as England's national stadium. It is the home venue of the England national football team. The old Wembley stadium, which opened in 1923 as the Empire Stadium, often referred to as "The Twin Towers", was one of the world's most famous football stadiums until its demolition in 2003. There are also music concerts performed as well.

The Brewery is a 300-capacity music venue located on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Brewery was opened in 1983 by Kenny Hobby. The Brewery has long been a stop for up-and-coming touring acts, as well as established acts with a somewhat diminished fan base.

It is always mainly used for music performances such as paramour, Boys Like Girls and Armor For Sleep.

The Swan is a theatre located in London, England, built in 1595 on top of a previously standing structure, during the first half of William Shakespeare's career. It was the fourth in the series of large public playhouses of London.

The sawn theatre is mainly used for drama plays and performances, such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and so on.












Set Design and Types Of Staging 

In The Round Stage-

The In the round stage is a term for a more contemporary staging,  the setting of the stage is the audience completely surrounding the stage to allow them to feel included in the performance.

Mainly concerts are thrown at this type of stage such as rock, pop, classical, also exhibitions, presentations, conferences and TV shows.

Proscenium Arch Stage-

The Proscenium Arch Stage is mostly used for musicals, dramas, plays and concerts, with the audience all watching from the front, which is mainly traditional staging. The stage often has decorative architecture.

The audience always has the opportunity to directly face the stage, which is usually raised above front row of the audience level, and views the performance through the proscenium "arch". The main stage is the space behind the proscenium arch, often hidden by the curtain which can be lowered or drawn closed.

Thrust Stage-

The thrust stage is a more modern type of staging, the most different thing about it is that the performers are amongst the audience which makes the performance feel more intimate. It is mostly used for fashion shows and displaying exhibitions, it could also be used for dramas.
